Grianaig Guest House & Restaurant

My wife and I visited this August to play the Askernish Golf Course, and we stayed for 3 nights. Grianaig Guest House is absolutely fantastic! The room was extremely comfortable, Carla and Chris go out of their way to anticipate your every need before you can think of it, and the food is out of this world. We can't say enough good things and we will be back!

Book this, you won't regret it! This is a perfect B&B (with the optional addition of evening meals.) The food is exceptional, they are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is warm and inviting! The owners have thought of everything!

Came to South Uist for some golf and stayed two nights at the Grianaig House. Carla and Chris are excellent hosts and the house is immaculately kept and the food was delicious. Top-notch all around. I'd love to return to South Uist and if I get the chance to again, I'll certainly return to Grianaig House.

This was a truly 5 star experience! A beautifully appointed guest house, Chris and Carla have thought of everything and are the ideal hosts. Fabulous rooms, spotlessly clean with top bed linen and super comfortable beds. The food was exceptional and with few rooms a very friendly intimate atmosphere with charming sitting area to relax and browse the many books and maps. Easy to find and lots to explore nearby, don’t miss the nearby Kildonan Museum. I wished we'd stayed longer.

Chris and Carla provide top class accommodation, breakfast and evening meal in South Uist . The accommodation is immaculate and provides a great atmosphere to return to after sightseeing. Everything is very well organized and helps you relax. There is an excellent selection of magazines and books (and a very well stocked honesty bar). Both hosts go the extra distance to help you enjoy your visit - both practical help and advice on what you might enjoy.

Chris and Carla are wonderful hosts. Their guest house is just a cosy, luxurious place where you feel at home instantly by the kindness, generosity, good advices and help of the hosts. The dinner was just delicious as the breakfast. Chris knows what he is doing! I highly recommend it if you’re staying in South Uist. Thank you for this wonderful moments in your house.

Having owned and run an award winning Guesthouse of our own, we know just how good Grianaig Guest House is. Chris and Carla, work exceptionally hard, but they are so good, you barely notice the effort involved. Quite simply, of all the places we stayed at in our month long trip, this was the best. Superbly comfortable bedroom and bathroom, exceptional cleanliness, The best food on the trip, Views, Wildlife...what more could you ask for. If you are considering a trip to the Outer Hebrides, this should be the first place to book. If they are full, reaarange your trip, It's that good!

If I've stayed in a better b&b I can't remember it. A fantastic place. We were cycling the Hebridean Way. The attention to detail is brilliant. Bikes stored overnight in a container. A place for your wet gear if you have any. Radiators on to dry out wet clothes. Beautiful rooms. We had dinner. The food is what you would expect in a very good restaurant. There is an honesty bar with a huge range of spirits and liqueurs. Our hosts, Chris and Carla were fantastic. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
